Description
Wikipedia, a two-tier democracy? (Wikipédia, une démocratie à deux vitesses ?) Evénement en anglais
While Wikipedia, the encyclopedia, is organized according to a participatory & peer-to-peer model, the Wikimedia follows a more traditional organizational structure.
Shouldn't the democratic ideal inspiring Wikipedia also extend to the organization of the Wikimedia Foundation?
For example, should the Wikimedia Foundation become a user- and worker-managed cooperative?
Speakers
Lionel Scheepmans, Wikipedian, PhD student in anthropology
Romaine, Wikimedia Belgium
Respondent : Thomas Ferretti, researcher in philosophy (Chaire Hoover)
Event open to the public. UCL members are kindly requested to bring their student/employee card.
Événement ouvert au public : les membres de l’UCL sont priés de se munir de leur carte d’étudiant/membre du personnel
