Waarden
De Piratencodex
Piraten hebben vertrouwen in zichzelf en durven vertrouwen in de ander. Ze geloven in samenwerking en in de wisdom of the crowd. Piraten kijken met een constructieve blik naar de samenleving. Ze bouwen mee aan de commons (= gemeenschapsgoed) en aan collectieve doelen.
Kernwaarden van de Piratenpartij
Commons zijn gemeenschapsgoederen die opgebouwd, beheerd en gedeeld worden door een community. Ze kunnen zowel reëel (grond, coöperatieven) als virtueel (informatie, kennis, software) zijn. Ze overstijgen de logica van markt en staat, en die van nationalisering en privatisering. De leden van de community kunnen vrij gebruik maken van de commons, zonder patenten en zonder het betalen van licenties. Wederzijds respect is de basisvoorwaarde.
