Changing from specific to generic social security is expensive
Argument: The cost of the personnel used to calculate all the different rules is small in comparison to the money it redistributes. We calculate the cost of
The UBI will give that money to everyone just like that and that cost will be a lot higher than that cost of the personnel and is as such a lot less efficient.
Counterarguments:
- If those people cost (supposedly) 2 billion now, then they would bring in 6 billion if they would go work for the private sector.
- Despite this system, a lot of people still live in poverty, which a UBI solves
- This system creates a lot of uncertainty, creating fear with many people, creating healthcare costs...
- This system leads to complicated legislation which costs money on government side, but also on the people's side
