As almost 50% of the population works for the government directly or indirectly and a basic income will cause some people to voluntarily go into unemployment, could our government do with less people? Even if we created more unemployment but let some extra working for the government go into the private sector, it could pay the basic income and even be profitable. So, the question of whether the government labour can be decreased a little bit (a rato of the people going into unemployment e.g.) in order to finance the basic income, is quite important.
