Details
This meeting was part of the Pirate Lab January 2017 and was organized as a workshop about our internal democracy.
Summary of the previous meeting
Here is a short summary of the previous meeting:
- We agreed that the most important thing is the meeting.
- Tell the bar/pub that you will have a meeting there, so that people can find you
- Try to have recurrent meetings (always same date)
- Communicate about the meeting on time
- Put the time on the website (two weeks in advance if possible)
- Communicate the agenda
- Try to avoid last minutes changes!
Minutes
We asked ourself: What's a democratic decision ?
- A democratic decision should be in consensus. If you can't find a consensus on the question, you should find a consensus on the decision-process.
- For example, if you can't find a consensus on the question, you can agree to postpone, discuss, organise meetings, not need a decision at all, vote... Make those kind of questions explicit!
- Consensus means co-creativity and dialogue, avoid voting. This can take time, sometimes we cannot reach decision right away. A decision should be revisable and is therefore temporary.
- How should meetings be organised?
- We decided to talk about this in another meeting, 12/02/2017 in De 'Blauwe Schuit', Vismarkt in Leuven at 14h. The goal would be to have guidelines for meetings.
