'''Commons''' are common goods which are built, managed and shared by a community. They can be both real (land, cooperatives) and virtual (information, knowledge, software). They transcend the logic of market and state, and that of nationalization and privatization. Members of the community can make free use of the '''commons''', without patents and without paying licenses. Mutual respect is the basic condition.

Les communaux sont des savoirs et des biens communs qui sont générés, gerés et partagés par une communauté. Ils peuvent être autant physiques (un terrain, des coopératives) que virtuels (de l’information, un savoir, un logiciel). Ils vont au-delà de la logique du marché et de l’Etat, et de la nationalisation et de la privatisation. Les membres de la communauté peuvent utiliser librement les communaux, sans devoir payer de brevets ou de licences, mais dans le respect mutuel.
