New page

In the Belgium Pirate Party, we make frequent use of mailinglist, like many other Pirate Parties in the world.

== What is a mailinglist ==
A mailinglist consists of a number of mailaddressess which receive a mail every time a mail is send to the list. When you reply to such a message, the reply is send to the mailinglist as well. This way you can discuss over a mailinglist subjects with a lot of people, without excluding others.

== How do you subscribe to a mailinglist ==
You can subscribe to them [http://pirateparty.be/?page_id=65 here] or on some of the pages of the respective squads and crews in the wiki. If you subscribe, you will receive a mail with the name of the list and (possible) further instructions.

== How do you use a mailinglist ==
If you subscribed to the Antwerpen-mailinglist, you will receive a mail containing the name of the list, for instance: ''Welcome to list pp.be.democratie@pirateparty.be''

To contact all other people subscribed on this list, simply write a mail, and send it to pp.be.democratie@pirateparty.be.

== How do you unsubscribe from a mailinglist ==
You can unsubscribe from all mailinglists of the Pirate Party by sending a mail to sympa@pirateparty.be with this subject (without <>-marks): <unsubscribe *>
The * at the end is important.

You can unsubscribe from a single mailinglists by sending a mail to sympa@pirateparty.be with this subject (without the <>-marks and with the correct name of the mailinglist): <unsubscribe pp.be.nameofthemailinglist@pirateparty.be>

These mails are processed by a computer, so be exact and don't add anything unnecessary. If you unsubscribe, you will receive a confirmation that you have been unsubscribed from a list.

== Other things you can do with a mailinglist ==
[http://www.ed.ac.uk/schools-departments/information-services/services/computing/comms-and-collab/email/lists/sympa/user-email Here] you can find a list with additional commands, not all of them may work on the Pirate Party mailinglists.
